Every morning at 6am ET, ten new trivia questions drop and everyone on Earth gets the same ten. Questions 8, 9 and 10 are a media round: two song clips and a photograph. Listen, name the artist before the timer runs out, and see the album art you were hearing.

If you miss the daily song game
Heardle was acquired by Spotify and shut down in July 2023, and nothing quite replaced the specific thing it did: one shared clip a day, the same one for everybody, no catalogue to browse and no scores to farm.
WHAMI isn't a clone of it. It's a trivia game, and the music is three questions out of ten. But the media round was built for that same morning habit, and it comes with something the clones don't have: the answer is derived from the recording you're actually hearing, not from what a model claims the song is. It can't tell you the answer is one artist while playing you another.
Photographs are credited properly too, with Creative Commons attribution rendered under the image, public-domain works left uncredited because that's correct.

- Is WHAMI a Heardle alternative?
- Partly. Heardle was acquired by Spotify and shut down in July 2023, and WHAMI is not a clone of it; it's a ten-question daily trivia game. But questions 8, 9 and 10 are a media round built around the same habit: one shared set of clips a day, the same ones for everyone, no catalogue to browse and no way to farm attempts. If the song round is the part you want, it's the last three questions of a ninety-second game.
- How much does it cost?
- Nothing. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, and no tracking.
- Do I need an account or a Spotify subscription?
- No. You pick a player name and play. No email, no password, no music subscription of any kind. Audio previews come from Apple's public catalogue.
- When do new questions arrive?
- 6am ET every day. Everyone in the world gets the same ten questions, so puzzle #219 in Tokyo is puzzle #219 in Toledo.
- How long does it take?
- About ninety seconds. Ten questions, ten seconds each, and the faster you answer the more you score.
- What do I need to play?
- An iPhone or iPad running iOS 17 or later, and an internet connection. There's no Android version yet.
